Computing & IT Qualifications

The aim of the Diploma in Computing and IT qualification is to prepare students for a rewarding and successful career in the Computing and IT Industry by preparing students with the theory, knowledge, industry skills, technology and professionalism essential to take the first step and subsequently transition into the work place or the prospect to pursue their higher studies.

Upon completion of the course, the students will be well versed about the Computing industry and will be able to work independently and even supervise to some extent in the area of Software development, database design, using python for programming, webs designing, computer networking, using agile for software development, web development through use of Django and API. The students will also be able to demonstrate the skills learnt during the program and will have required soft skills to utilize the knowledge and skills about Computing and IT at the workplace.

1.  What is Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) ?
SQA is not for profit Government Sponsored agency accountable to the Scottish Government and sit at the heart of Scotland’s world-renowned education system. SQA has over 100 year experience in developing qualifications and qualification systems across the globe. LCCI GQ is the first and only institution from Nepal to be approved by SQA.

2.  What is Scottish Credit & Qualifications Framework (SCQF) ?
SCQF is a globally recognised national qualifications framework in the UK and is managed by the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework Partnership. In order to be on the SCQF, LCCI Global Qualifications have gone through a rigorous and quality assured process of ‘credit rating’.
The SCQF Partnership includes members from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), College Development Network, the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and Universities Scotland.

3.  What are SCQF Credit and SCQF Level?
Through credit rating process, LCCI Global Qualifications have received SCQF credit points, which show how much learning has been achieved, and a SCQF level which shows how demanding the learning is.

4.  What is European Qualifications Framework (EQF)?
EQF is a European-wide qualifications framework which joins the qualifications of different European countries. LCCI GQ qualifications are benchmarked against the EQF, making it easier for European employers to compare LCCI GQ programmes against their own framework.

5.  How can I verify the recognition of LCCI Global Qualifications programme ?
Only qualifications which are SCQF credit-rated are listed on the SCQF database. You can use weblink below and search by ‘LCCI Global Qualifications’ (as “Qualification Owner”) in order to verify the recognition of LCCI GQ programmes within the national qualifications framework of Scotland: scqf.org.uk/the-framework/search-database/

6.  Can I apply for further education after successfully completing LCCI GQ IT programmes ?
Since LCCI GQ programs are benchmarked at SCQF and EQF, students have the opportunity to take lateral entry into bachelor degree at various foreign universities, subject to meeting their entry requirements. Students who are interested to apply must have successfully completed 10 + 2 (Higher Secondary Education) to obtain credit transfer opportunity. (Please note, LCCI GQ does not claim any academic equivalency of any of its programs in Nepal’s context)

Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is a not-for-profit government-sponsored agency accountable to the Scottish Government, central to Scotland’s education system. With over 100 years of experience, SQA develops, assesses, and awards qualifications globally in workplaces, colleges, and schools.

LCCI GQ offers SQA quality assured programmes through Diploma in Computing and IT (DCIT), Professional Diploma in Animation, Foundation Diploma in Computing & IT, Unit Certificate in Computing & IT, and Certificate in Data Science and Analytics.

18 months, focusing on theory, practical skills in software development, Python, web design, networking, agile methods, Django, and API, plus soft skills for workplace readiness.

All LCCI qualifications run under Nepal's prevailing laws. Developed/owned by LCCI GQ, SQA externally quality assures them, and they are jointly certificated by SQA and LCCI. They do not fall under foreign education; no academic equivalency claimed in Nepal’s context.

Quality assured by SQA Scotland, students receive joint certification from LCCI Global Qualifications and SQA upon completion.

Any students striving for a career in Computing and IT, seeking entry-level roles or higher studies in software, web development, networking, or data analytics.

Successfully passed SEE with a minimum grade of D(1.6 GPA) or an equivalent examination, and must have studied and passed English with at least 100 marks in SEE or an equivalent examination with a minimum D grade (1.6 GPA)

Failure in theory/practical means failure in the subject. Re-examination allowed up to 3 attempts or within 3 years from joining, with a re-exam fee.

Yes, assessments based on written tests, practical work, projects, and attendance at respective sites.

Practical projects are mandatory to demonstrate skills in areas like Python programming and web development. No formal internship required, but sites may arrange exposure.

Primarily the responsibility of Registered Training Sites (RTS). LCCI can assist RTS as part of Site Support Service if needed.

Yes, benchmarked at SCQF Level 7 (139 credits) and EQF Level 5. Allows lateral entry to bachelor's degrees at foreign universities (after 10+2), subject to their requirements. LCCI provides lists; no Nepal equivalency claimed.

Upon registration, you will receive the syllabus, reference books, and assessment patterns. RTS provide additional relevant materials during training.
